By accessing our website or registering for our events, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

All collaborators are expected to adhere to privacy standards and use shared data only for event-related purposes.

  • Advertising Partners: We may share limited data (e.g., hashed email, cookies) with services like Google Ads for remarketing purposes. This constitutes 'sharing' under California law and you have the right to opt out (see Section 12).

  • Legal Authorities: If required by law or to protect our rights.

5. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies to operate our website and understand user behavior. These may include:

  • Essential cookies: Required for basic site functionality

  • Analytics cookies: Tools such as Google Analytics to understand user behavior and improve our services

We may in the future also use Mouseflow (session replay and heatmaps), Invisible reCAPTCHA (spam protection), Google Places (location features), and FreshDesk (customer support).

  • Event registration and participation data is retained for up to 3 years after the event date.

Once data is no longer needed, we securely delete or anonymize it.

7. Email Communications

8. Advertising and Remarketing

We do not currently show third-party ads on our website. However, we may use remarketing services (e.g., Google Ads) to show Idea Citizen ads to users who have previously visited our site. These services use cookies to serve relevant ads across the web.

California residents have the right to opt out of the sharing of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. To opt out, please contact us at privacy@ideacitizen.com or use the cookie opt-out tools described in Section 5.

9. Payments

Users may be able to pay for products or services (e.g., event tickets, premium content). Payment processing is handled securely via third-party providers (e.g., Stripe, PayPal). We do not store credit card or payment information on our systems.

We comply with applicable privacy regulations, including:

  • CCPA + CPRA (California Consumer Privacy Act and California Privacy Rights Act)

  • GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation, for EU and UK users)

  • CalOPPA (California Online Privacy Protection Act)

  • Opt-out options are available for those who do not wish to be recorded.

However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure.
